
Our human brains cannot comprehend
the infinitude of God’s Love.
Scripture
And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,
may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to
grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,
and to know this love that surpasses knowledge
that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of GOD
Ephesians 3:17-19
This is how GOD showed his love among us: HE sent HIS one and only Son into the world that we might live through HIM.
This is love: not that we loved GOD, but that HE loved us and sent HIS Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins
1 John 4:9-10
But GOD demonstrates HIS own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, CHRIST died for us
Romans 5:8
Love the LORD your GOD with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ . . . ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’”
Mark 12:30-31
Walk in the way of love, just as CHRIST loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to GOD
Ephesians 5:2
Reflections
That kind of sacrificial love is incomprehensible!
How great is GOD’s love that HE would give HIMSELF for us!
Perfect, holy, righteous JESUS died to pay the wages of our sin.
GOD’s love does not come cheap.
GODS’s love cost HIS own Son.
JESUS endured immeasurable physical and emotional pain when HE was separated from the FATHER in order to take away our sins.
As Christians, we know that our GOD is loving and merciful, yet HE is also just in HIS judgments.
As Christians, we know that although HIS love is not based on our accomplishments,
HIS love is conditional upon CHRIST’s
death on the cross
and
upon our acceptance of that gift.
If we truly want to be people who love others and love God fully, then we must begin by giving Christ our lives and by asking Him to teach us how to love the way He loves us.
Love is a choice that many times we cannot make on our own. People will say hurtful words about us. Some will seek to harm us, and yet the love of God has the ability to cover all sin. Nothing is more powerful than God’s love in our lives.
