The Bible

‘In the beginning the Word already existed;
the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.

From the very beginning the Word was with God.
Through him God made all things;
not one thing in all creation was made without Him.

The Word was the source of life,
and this life brought light to people.

The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has never put it out. ‘

John 1:1-5

But if you look closely into the perfect law that sets people free,
and keep on paying attention to it
and do not simply listen and then forget it,
but put it into practice

—you will be blessed by God in what you do.

James 1:25

‘“Listen!” says Jesus. “I am coming soon! Happy are those who obey the prophetic words in this book!”

Revelation 22:7

We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you

about the power and
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,
but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

For He received honor and glory from God the Father
when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying,

“This is my Son, whom I love;
with Him I am well pleased.”

We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven
when we were with Him on the sacred mountain.

And we have the word of the prophets made more certain,
and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a
light shining in a dark place,
until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

Above all, you must
understand that no prophecy of Scripture
came about by the prophet’s own interpretation.

For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man,
but men spoke from God
as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 1: 16 ‐ 21

I, John, solemnly warn everyone who hears the prophetic words of this book:

if any add anything to them,
God will add to their punishment the plagues described in this book.

And if any take anything away from the prophetic words of this book,
God will take away from them their share of the fruit of the tree of life and of the Holy City,
which are described in this book.

Revelation 22:18-19

Just be determined, be confident;
and make sure that you obey the whole Law that my servant Moses gave you.

Do not neglect any part of it and you will succeed wherever you go.
Remember that I have commanded you to be

• Determined and confident!
• Do not be afraid or discouraged,

for I, the Lord your God, am with you wherever you go.”

Be sure that the book of the Law is always read in your worship.

Study it day and night, and make sure that you obey everything written in it.

Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Joshua 1:7-9

… and you remember that ever since you were a child,
you have known the Holy Scriptures,
which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for
teaching the truth,
rebuking error,
correcting faults, and
giving instruction for right living,

so that the person who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good deed.’

Yes God wrote a book for us, the Holy Bible.

The Holy Spirit honors and uses God’s Word in speaking to you.

Scripture is our source of authority and guides for our faith and practice.

One of the most amazing creations of all time.

Contains everything we need for:

• Salvation
• Faith
• Obedience
