Jesus

came to give us the power to overcome:

  • evil
  • addiction
  • death

Scripture

Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Because of His great mercy he gave us new life by raising Jesus Christ from death.
This fills us with a living hope,

Reflections

That same power transformed Saul to Paul—
changing the greatest persecutor of Christians to a man sold out for the Gospel.

Paul so knew the power of the resurrection that he came to consider it joy to suffer the loss of all things, including his life,
for the sake of the Gospel (see Philippians 3:7-14).

The power of the resurrected Jesus does what no earthly power could ever do:

  • changing the hearts
  • changing minds
  • changing lives of all who believe in Christ and follow Him in obedience.
